The first thing we intended to breeze through, was putting on the door panel. Little did we know that the lock bar (upper box) was not connected to the door lock mechanism (lower box). At first Tom told me to try to connect it by feel, a very polish idea. After about  ten seconds of that we started pulling off the door shell panel, but in order to do this we had to remove the window. We connected the bar put the panel back on, and it fell back off. This was tried about four times to many. So we disconnected the locking mechanism and noticed that a fine peice of plastic that held the lock bar was broken off. After replacing the locking mechanism and dealing with a broken door handel we put the door back together.
All that work to put on a door panel.
Before completely installing the door panel, we had to first put back in the window.
Badda Bing . . .little dirty but who cares
When the GTI was picked up, this window was completely missing and shattered glass was everywhere. Our guess, is this is how they broke in......
Anyhow. It looks good like this huh, sweet weight reduction ;)
Tom did all the wiring and pluggin in for this inner panel. Then it was all bolted on and ready for the window installation.

THEN!!!!!
Polish Error #4367758792
Tom purchased two driver side windows.

The new window is on its way and once it's slipped in, the passenger side panel will then be put on.
First the seat belt had to be bolted on before the panel could be put on. Then we bolted up the floor door runner because it is also the rear kick panel. That had to be behind the rear panel.
Once the seat belt mechanism was bolted on, and the kick panel was up, the panel went on smoothy with no problems. Its looking more like an interior of a car now.
Next we installed the rear seats, and hooked up the trunk cover.
Special thanks to John Page, from Rad Robs Allstar bike shop. He hooked us up with a kerosene heater tune up, with out heat none of this was possable.
The rear seats were a sinch to install. Took no effort at all.
